Hi guys, just did a clean install of jira on VPS im hosting. It surprised me it's using 27% of my ram constantly while idling, this seemed like a LOT to me, often it doens't respond fast and feels a little unstable.

Is this expected behaviour? If not, where could I start looking for the problem?

Hi,

Yes it is normal. Jira is running under Java language which is consuming a lot of memory.

The reason why it doesn't respond fast can be because the cache hasn't been created yet. If you use it a little bit more, when you will go back on pages you have already visited, that should be quicker.
