I have instructions on how to clear the Jira plugin cache; which point to removing the contents of these two folders:
Delete JIRA_HOME/plugins/.bundled-plugins and JIRA_HOME/plugins/.osgi-plugins (just these two folders)
We are using Jira 8.5.1, and do not see this folder or any plugin folder; I saw in another post someone else ad an issue finding these folders in Jira 8; are they located elsewhere or under a different directory path?
Thank you!
Hello @Harry Rumble , these 2 folders will be rebuilt when JIRA starts. So, you can try starting your Server first and see if you can access those folders.
"If Jira was installed using the automated Windows or Linux installers, the default location of the Jira home directory is:
C:\Program Files\Atlassian\Application Data\JIRA
(on Windows) or/var/atlassian/application-data/JIRA
(on Linux)"You can also look at these KB articles for more information -
Important directories and files
Jira application home directory
Thank you @Sachin
We know where the home directory is on Jira, but cannot find these two folders at all. Are they named something else in Jira 8?
I see from one of the articles you posted above, there are plugins and caches folders, would these have the same content as mentioned in the previous folders?

Once you changed the directory to /var/atlassian/application-data/jira/plugins you will need to do ls - a to see the .bundled-plugins and .osgi-plugins.

Make sure you are seeing hidden files.
In my case that was disabled for my tool and took me a while to find those folders within /var/atlassian/application-data/jira/plugins
