I am a Jira newbie. I created a Jira ticket that includes roughly ten sub-task. My goal was to have other people on other teams clone this ticket so they wouldn't have to create the ticket and sub-tasks from scratch.
I am looking for a way to either clone with 'reporter' blank or to change the reporter on the issue and all sub-task without changing them one by one.
Thanks in advance for any guidance that you can provide
Hello @Greg Polkinghorn
Welcome to the Atlassian community!
You could use the Automation for Jira feature to clone an issue and its subtasks.
Automation for Jira includes a Clone Issue action, but that will not automatically clone the subtasks also.
This post discusses the full rule for cloning an issue and its subtasks.
My issue is not the cloning itself but rather doing the cloning in a way that does not require manual editing of the reporter in the main issue and sub-tasks. Any advice on that topic would be appreciated.

When you do the Cloning through the Automation rule you will have the option to set values in the new issue. You can then set the Reporter to the Initiator of the rule, assuming your Rule Actor has the Edit Reporter permission in the project.
Using the Clone Issue option that is available directly within the issue view does not allow you to change field values as part of the cloning process.
