Hello,
On one of our projects, tickets with 'Ticket Closed' status are showing up in all the sprints, including the one that is active and the completed sprints too. Please advise what can be done to fix this.
Thanks.
Hello @Prakriti Arora
We need more information about what is happening.
Jira does not natively automatically put values into Sprints. This may be getting done by another user, by an Automation Rule that was created by a user, or by other functionality that has been set up by a user.
When you Complete a Sprint you have the option to move incomplete issues to the another Sprint or the Backlog. Incomplete issues will retain the value of previous sprints to which they were assigned even when they are moved forward to another sprint.
You can look at the History information for an issue to see when and by whom the Sprint field was updated, and how the value of that field changed. I would suggest that you start by looking at that information and going back to the user noted in those history entries.
If you find that the issues are ending up in multiple sprints because they are considered "incomplete" when you are Completing a sprint, then that could be due to the "Ticket Closed" status not being mapped to the right-most column of your board. When the Sprint is Completed, only the issues in Statuses mapped to the right-most column are considered "complete". It doesn't matter what that status is, only that it is in the right-most column.
