I have two scrum projects in Jira:
I closed the sprint for the Team managed project today and the sprint on both boards was closed. I'm ok with that, however, want the open tickets in the Company managed project to be moved to the next sprint too.
Is there a setting for managing this?
You said the "sprint on both boards was closed". Can you provide more information on your boards and how you are creating sprints?
For a Team Managed project, a board should've been automatically created with the project, and that board should encompass only issues from your Team Managed project. That sprint should not show on another board unless you
1. manually created a board and set the filter to include issues from that Team Managed project, or
2. manually added issues from another project to the sprint you created in your Team Managed project's board.
Are you intentionally trying to use a shared sprint that includes issues from both the Team Managed and the Company Managed project?
Closing a sprint in your Team Managed project board should not affect your Company Managed project issues unless you added the Company Managed project issues to the sprint you defined in your Team Managed project's board.
Thank you for getting back to me @Trudy Claspill
Yes, the sprint dates are the same for both the company and team managed sprints. The team managed project was created some time ago and the company managed recently. I was quite pleased to see the company managed project was also following the team managed sprint dates without me doing anything extra during the setup of the new project. Do you think this could be leading to the issue?
Some further background:
The sprint was closed (team managed) by going to the board and pressing the 'Complete sprint' button. When I did this I got the option to transfer the open tickets to the backlog or the next sprint. I choose the next sprint and it worked perfectly for the team managed project. The company managed sprint was also closed however and open tickets were moved to the backlog.
For the team managed project I created a few sprints from the backlog view by pressing the 'Create sprint'. There were no existing sprints for the company managed project. Could this have led to the tickets moving to the backlog instead of the next sprint?
