Hello
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
You can allow a user to make Team Managed types of projects by adding them to a user group and giving that group the Create Team Managed Project permission in the Global Permissions settings.
Jira does not provide a method for giving a user permission to create Company Managed projects other than by giving them the Administer Jira permission.
If you are open to using a third party app you might want to look at Delegated Project Creator for Jira.
How to assign project creation permissions to a user
Hello, do you know of any permission or way to assign a role so that a user can create projects in JIRA but not be a platform administrator? I know I can make it admin of a project but my need is for the user to be able to create projects as well.
Thank you very much for your support

Hi @Luis Carlos Gómez Mejía and welcome to the Community!
There is a difference here between company managed and team managed projects. Company managed projects can only be created by an administrator I'm afraid. There is no option to give that permission to a regular user of your site.
Team managed projects can however be created by any user that belongs to a group with the global permission to create team-managed projects. You can grant that permission in your Jira Settings > System > Global Permissions by assigning groups to it.
Keep in mind that team managed and company managed projects have different features and serve different purposes. If you are ok with the idea of users creating their own projects to be used for themselves, then you may have an option here.
Hope this helps!
