Hi all,
I'm hoping to use the Dependencies tab in Jira Plans however I'm having one challenge that's preventing it from being as useful as I'd hoped.
I've set up a Filter to determine what data shows in my Jira Plan.
The Dependencies tab shows tickets from the right date range / filters, however it is showing dependencies between tickets even when they are both (or all) in a Completed status.
I only want to see tickets on this Dependencies view if they are in a To Do status, or In Progress status.
It's fine to see Completed tickets if they are linked to a To Do / In Progress ticket e.g. a ticket might be Completed, and be blocking a In Progress ticket, so that is useful information.
But I do not want / need to see tickets if all of the tickets in a dependency group are marked as Completed - they're not longer relevant / of interest to me.
How do I ensure that tickets drop off this board once all of the tickets in a Dependency group are marked as Completed?
Note: I have tried using the Release feature, and marking a ticket as Released, but it still remains on the Dependencies board.
A plan default has a number of days set in the Removed Work Item option and then based on type or status.
The default set on a plan is that "Done" items will remove from the plan 30 days after set to status "Done", you can change this time frame.
The smallest from is a single day.
Note this impacts all views, this is not a setting per view, but for the plan.
Thanks Marc. I don't think that will help unfortunately, because I still do want *some* Completed/Done items to show in there (if they're linked to an item that is still in progress)

There is not other option, this is how issues in plans behave, other wise use filters in stead of a board and make sure the filter contains not "Done" items.
There are no options to don't show 'Done" issues, othersie the adjusting the Removed Work Item option, or use filters as a source, to be in charge what is in a plan.
Using a board or project as a source, will grab all items based on the project or the board and its related filter.

Thanks @Marc - Devoteam . That's a shame, this board is not very helpful if you can't have more granular control over the items showing on there.

The useful nes of this option in plan is to show dependencies based on items in the plan.
So in my opinion even "Done" item are useful to see if there is no progress on other items that where depended on this now "Done" item.
This could help a PO or SM to see if re-planning is needed, that how I see this.
As a depended item completes, the timeline of completion might shift or other work can be picked up sooner.
