When I complete a Sprint, I receive this message if some subtasks are checked as "done": http://prntscr.com/thv7j3
And suprisingly there is no link do open in a new tab and change the status. I need to go back, search for each one.
Is there a way to disable this warning and complete the sprint? Is the subtasks are not done, they should make the parent issue "in progress" again.
Thanks!
Gui.
Hi Carla. I understand that a parent cannot be closed until all children is closed. The thing is:
1. Jira could make things easier and ask "This action will also change all subtasks to "done". Do you want to proceed?". That would help a lot.
2. The screenshot I sent ( http://prntscr.com/thv7j3 ) shows the warning message. There is no link to open the issue in a new tab to manage the subtasks status. We need to close the warning message, go to the filter, find each issue, change the status and then come back and try to complete the sprint again.
Weird.
This is the parent and child dependency; parent cannot be closed until all children closed. The only thing to do is clone the ticket. Take the original ticketed and remove children that are not closed and close it as part of sprint. Take the clone ticket have it related (with no dependencies) back to original ticket and assign it and the incomplete children to the next sprint.
Best practice reminder: Agile methodology ask you well know if the issue and any children tickets cannot be completed in a sprint can be reassessed before or during the sprint ---this will change to burn down velocity if sprint is in progress.
