Conditional Fields In Jira

Is there a way natively in Jira to make fields in a screen scheme conditional?

<If_This_Field = True> Then do this.....(Show another field, create a subtask...etc)

According to the notes in this post, you can do it (on server) using javascript, but this isn't supported or maintained as a supported part of JIRA.

I have been able to accomplish this task with Automation for JIRA on cloud, but not with native functionality. Also, the ticket linked on the page says that it will not be considered and provides links to several third party apps that accomplish the use cases.
