As our customers are classified by different tiers and geographic regions, it would help immensely if I could add a functionality that by selecting the customer ID (in a customer field), the tier and Region, for example, would be filled automatically. Since we have hundreds of customers, filling these manually is not feasible as searching for each one's Tier and Region would take long time.
For example: if the Support Engineer selects Customer "John's flower shop", Tier field would automatically be filled to "Tier 3" and Region would be "North America".
How would you approach this problem in Service Desk/Cloud?

I'd also suggest using a simple post function to do that job for you in a first step. You can use one of the available apps on the marketplace, to name a few Scriptrunner ( already mentioned) Jira Workflow Toolbox, Jira Misc Workflow Extensions, Suite Utilities for Jira, that enhance Jira with crucial additional functionalities in terms of conditions/validators/post functions and even more depending on each app.
