Configure Jira connection add-on disabled

Do you connect Jira with MS Teams?  How do you like it?  I tried to connect the 2 but it's weird that the connection for the site shows "add-on disabled".  I am able to choose the PROD site to connect for Confluence with MS Teams but I am unable to do it for Jira PROD site.  How weird!

The "add-on disabled" issue is usually related to admin permissions or app configuration. Here's how to troubleshoot:

Check These First:

1. Admin Rights: Ensure you have Jira admin permissions (not just Confluence admin)
2. App Status: Go to Jira Settings > Apps > Manage apps and verify the Microsoft Teams connector is enabled
3. Site Admin: The connection might need to be initiated by a site admin, not just project admin

Common Fixes:

• Reinstall the App: Sometimes disabling/re-enabling the Teams connector in Jira resolves this
• Clear Cache: Try connecting from an incognito browser session
• Different Admin: Have another Jira admin attempt the connection

MS Teams + Jira Experience: When it works, it's pretty solid for:

• Getting Jira notifications in Teams channels
• Creating issues directly from Teams
• Quick issue lookups and updates

The setup can be finicky initially, but once connected it's quite useful for teams that live in Teams.

Alternative: You could also try the newer Atlassian for Microsoft Teams app if the legacy connector is giving you trouble.
