Hello!

I was trying to connect my Confluence to Jira within User Directories, so I can pull users from Jira without duplicating accounts in Confluence. We keep the SA team as internal directory users, so I just wanted to keep those same accounts if possible.

Issue is when I went to User Directories to add Jira for this "Configure Atlassian Jira Server" . Where/how do I Application Name/Password? I tried the admin account that was created when Jira was stood up however that isn't it.

For context as well, I have the application link working between confluence and jira currently.

Thanks!

Hello @Dan ! Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

So, on the Jira side, did you go to the User Management section and add an Application?  It would have prompted you for the application name (Confluence, in your case), set a password, and the IP address(es) of the Confluence Server.

THEN, you go to User Directories in Confluence and add the directory, using the application name and password you created in Jira.

Details are here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/connecting-to-crowd-or-jira-for-user-management-229838465.html

Hope this helps!
