Here is our tech stack:

  • We are using JIRA (Cloud) to track our development Stories/Task/Bugs.
  • We are using the Release Management addon in JIRA to track Packages/Versions
  • We are using Github as our SCM tool.
  • We are using Octopus as our deployment management solution.
  • We have installed and configured the Octopus Deploy JIRA add on
  • We already have our JIRA tied to our Github so commits in Github are linked to specific issues.
  • We also have our Github connected to Octopus so that a commit in Github automatically gets sent to Octopus and deployed to our first environment.

Our Goal:

What we would like is to have a connection between Issues and their deployments in Octopus. What we are trying to do is to be able to see, in JIRA on an Issue, which build that issue is in, and in which environment it is in.

I've configured Octopus to connect with JIRA and I've mapped the Environments. What I can't figure out is how to tie an Issue back into Octopus.  Any and all help is appreciated!
