Consolidating 2 Jira Software instances - 1 Cloud to 1 Existing Jira Server

When a company has 2 instances for 2 different departments and want to migrate the cloud data to join the **existing server** data, the migration according to this article work? https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiracloud/migrating-from-jira-cloud-to-server-776636236.html It doesn't say whether the migrated data will overwrite existing data in this instance.
Thanks in advance for your assistance!

Hi @Heather R

The migrated data from Cloud will overwrite the server data. You should consider migrating the cloud projects into a separate Jira server and then merge the 2 server instances together by single project import as described here

But merging two Jira instances is not that easy and importing Jira projects to another instance can be complicated depending on the configurations applied.

You might want to consider add ons like Project Configurator
