Control custom field permission without using behaviours

Rafeah May 7, 2018

Hi,

Is there a way to control custom field permission without using behavior? We have this situation where we would like a certain custom field to be edited only by members of a certain user group. Behaviors is able to get it working on Edit and Transition screens, but users will still be able to edit the field via Bulk Edit (which is documented)

Just looking for ideas on how we can handle this.

Thanks a lot

Behaviours just hide fields in your browser. User can still access them, if the user wants.

A better approach would be to try plugins for field level security in the marketplace.

There are a couple of plugins with such functionality:

Unfortunately, there isn't a way to control field level permissions based on user role. Behaviours are the only way to handle it !
