I'm trying to send automated emails from Jira.  In outlook there is a way to thread messages using conversation view.  There was a local exchange server and now that was migrated to office365 which doesn't seem to work.

Previous fix was: adding "Re: " to the subject line as shared in the following posts:

Has anyone experienced this in office365? Is there a work around.

I just put a lot of work into creating custom Jira Automation email triggers, with the hope of replacing the "Component Watcher" method of notifying people (because the Component Watcher group gets spammed by way too many emails, and so I can have custom formatting and content in my notification emails), but if the Jira Automation emails can't show up in Conversation View in Outlook, that might be a deal breaker.... very disappointing, especially considering the emails that Jira sends out directly are somehow able to enable this.

I confirmed that the Jira Automation emails do not contain any "In-Reply-To:" or "References:" headers, which is what Outlook uses to do threading. It would be really, really helpful if there was an option in the Jira Automation's "Send Email" settings to tell Jira to attach a set of headers to an email so that Automations that are triggered from the same Issue can have the same headers.

I guess there are cases where Automations might not know which conversation they should be attached to, but... I imagine in many use-cases, people are just creating automations to send email alerts for specific actions taken on specific Issues, so Jira should be able to link those issues together internally
