Pramit Mitra October 27, 2022

How to convert Kanban board to Scrum. I have created a new Scrum board and want to import all the stories / Epics from the Kanban board to the new Scrum board.

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

You can't convert a board directly (nor "move" issues to another board), but that's because of the nature of boards, not that you can't do it.

A board is a view of a selection of issues, not a container for them.  A board has a filter behind it that selects a range of issues to show on the board and in the backlog.

So you don't "convert", you just create a new board and tell it to work with the same issues.  The easiest way is to look at the current board's config and see what the board filter is called, then go to my-work -> boards -> create new board, and tell that to build the new board from the same filter the existing board is using.

Hello @Pramit Mitra

Welcome to the community.

Are you working with a Team Managed project or a Company Managed project? It will say at the bottom of the navigation pane on the left.

If you are working with a Team Managed project, go to Project Settings > Features, and turn on the Sprints feature. That will change your Team Managed project board from Kanban to Sprint. That only works for Team Managed projects.

Use @Nic Brough -Adaptavist- 's guidance if you are working with issues in a Company Managed project.
