Converting/Moving issue types - existing restrictions on issue-level

Johann Riedel October 21, 2024

Hi,

we noticed that when converting/moving issue types, applied restrictions for specific issues are removed.

The issue then becomes visible for all users in the project.

The restriction I'm talking about is the one you can apply with the lock symbol when viewing an issue or set as a default for specific issue types.

We've set default restrictions for several issue types. These issue types are only visible for certain user groups, unless you "open" specific issues with the lock symbol when viewing the ticket.

When we move/convert the issue to another issue type, the existing restrictions are removed, whether they're set manually beforehand or are default restrictions - even if the "new" issue type of the issue has default restrictions, as well.

We're talking about a next gen/team managed project.

Does anyone know if that is a bug or supposed to happen?

Kind regards,

Johann

Hi @Johann Riedel

I tried moving an issue to a new issue type in a TM project, with security set.

On moving there is an as what to do with the security setting, if you do nothing, the security level is cleared.

Even if the issue security is set as a default.

So it might be a Bug.
