Copy a Field from the linked epic

Martin Thwaites May 22, 2013

I'm trying to make a "story" in greenhopper copy a field from it's Epic, and I can't find a way to do it.

Basically, we are assigning Epic's to versions, and using version specific boards (using a filter), however, when someone then creates stories within the Epic, they don't have a version.

I can do this with Tasks, in that they copy from their parent issue, however, I don't see a way to do it within the Epic/Story relationship.

Please Note that I'm using OD, so only plugins that are verified for that will be considered acceptable solutions.

Epic Link isn't handled as a parent-child relationship in Jira, that's why there's no task for "inheriting" values from Epics to Stories. Also, the idea behind an Epic is that it may span across Versions and Sprints, and so it's not always the case that all associated Stories would be in the same Version. You'll need to update them manually, then.
