Could there be a way of associating PVCS modules with Jira items?

PVCS uses SBM's Source Bridge application to allow association with SBM items, and can be configured to automatically assign version labels comprised of the SBM Item Id to the PVCS items,  In addition, the association action stores the associated PVCS module names and revisions numbers in the SBM item.

Could there be a way of performing an association between PVCS modules and Jira items?  I would settle for the automatic assignment of version labels to the associated PVCS modules, but a bonus would be storing the associated PVCS module names and revisions in the Jira item.
