Hi there!
We're trying to build a dynamic budget tracker that pulls and summarizes values from custom fields, separated by labels, either in Jira or confluence, but I haven't yet found a satisfying solution.
Setup:
While setting up the blank project I noticed that the "list" feature within the new project layout already ticks 90% of the boxes.
I personalized the appearance by selecting the relevant custom fields (mostly "budget") but didn't find any possibility to summarize and display the values of the custom field "budget" across all tickets in this view.
Since the project includes issues from various budget owners, we distinguish them by using labels, for which we can also filter using the default filter option of the project/kanban board.
At the other hand, I tried to mirror the appearance of this issue list in confluence but came to no satisfying solution. We're not interested in adding any marketplace software, therefore it should be an Atlassian feature, personalized to our needs, with custom JQL filters of necessary.
The ideal outcome would be:
Is there any way to achieve this using Jira or Confluence core functionalities?
Many thanks in advance for your thoughts.
Let me try to help.
However I would still recommend to think again about what level of budgeting you want to do in Jira. Potentially Jira can be used for light weight budgeting. There are apps like Tempo Budgets. Jira essentially is an issue tracker so using it as a budgeting tool might not work in a long run.
I hope it helps.
