Create Calculated Field with search list

I want to create a plugin with a calculated field type wich has a list of possible values calculated from a formula for an issue (for fun let's pretend that the list is red, blue, green etc. depending on the creation date), I also want to be able to search issues depending on that field, which class should I uses for the custom field? how can I give a list of those fixed possible values in the search issue page?
