Hi,
We have a project which has 3 phases (Phase 1, Phase 2, Phase 3), each of the versions has varying milestones starting with milestone1 which is the release versions. That means, Phase 1 has milestones starting from Milestone 1 -10, Phase 2 has milestones starting Milestone 1 - 7 etc. What is the best manage versions inside JIRA for these releases? A crude way of doing is put versions as Phase1_Milestone1...Phase 2_Milestone 2 etc. Is there a better way to manage version names as sub-version of a Phase?
Have a look at the Versions Hierarchy add-on.
It let's you visualize complex multi-package and multi-module project releases by versions hierarchy.
I've evaluated this add-on, but since all phases have same milestone names it's not easy to visualize in the issue screen using this. Also, filtering using JQL is not very convenient.
