We are trying to create a new group for view only users which would allow them to login and browse projects. At the moment the default is to use jira-users which is used throughout our system as the default project role. I have given the new group the project role of Browse Projects, and added users to this group.

I have tried adding the new group to JIRA Software in Application Access, but get an error stating the page is out of date and to click on refresh - which then returns me to the page with no updates. What am I doing wrong?

We are using JIRA 7.4.4

Hi Alison,

It doesn't sound you're doing anything wrong.

Try to add the new group to Application Access, while the group is empty (without members).
After the group has been added successfully to Application Access, try to re-add the users to the group.

If you can't add the group to Application Access, even when it's empty, check your Jira logs for errors.

Best Regards,
