Create a linked issue in another project based off the component variable

Guy Walker August 27, 2019

I'm interested in what might be some very specific functionality and I think I'm half way there. We have a number of products within the company and we are looking at bringing in more user & staff feedback for those products.

I've created a project for this and a number of components that relate to the products/projects themselves.

What I want to do when a issue is transitioned to 'Accepted' is have it Create a linked issue within the respective Project (based on the component).

Is this something I can do with Jira normal or is there a plugin anyone can recommend?

Hello,

You can not do it out of the box. You would need an app like Power Scripts, ScriptRunner, JWME, Automation for Jira and so on.

If you want to use the Power Scripts app, you can create a post function for the Accepted transition with a code like in this tutorial:

Thanks Alexey, I'll take a look at that app in the next few weeks!
