So we're trying to organize our issues into versions, so we create a version, drag issues to it and get the confirmation message that they were added to the version.
Then if I stay in the Backlog view, I can click on and off the version to filter by that version.
The issue is if I navigate away from that Backlog view and then navigate back (or just refresh) the version is empty and none of those issues I dragged into there show up in that filtered version view.
We've played around with our permissions and it doesn't seem to help. Does anyone have any advice on how to get this to work?
I've just tried it out in an internal instance running the latest dev version, and it works fine. Your best bet is to log an issue with full details of your Jira version, etc so that our Support people can try to reproduce it.
Thank you, Andrew. We figured out that we had to add that field into our project and then voila, it worked. That step was one we weren't aware of and the front end didn't let us know that was missing when we tried adding tasks to the version.

Glad you got it sorted out. It sounds like there is a usability issue; please feel free to log that via the same link. No doubt others will scratch their head about this too.

I just tried to log an issue through your link (also tried clicking on the "Log New Issue" button) and after typing up my issue, I get the alert: "User 'chaz13' doesn't have the 'Assign Issues' permission"
I assumed it might have to do with Components, but a component is required.

Hmm, if you can't create an issue, check what project you're trying to add it to.
If all else fails, please go to https://support.atlassian.com/contact/#/ and log a support ticket.
Sorry this process is turning out to be so difficult!
