Hi,
I currently have 1 project (Projec_A) grouping multiple projects (Project_A1) & (Project_A2).
Winthin Project_A I have created 1 board to filter each sub project (so they are using seperate filters) and be able to have an epic panel containing only epics created in this subproject.
What I would want to do now is to create a single sprint shared to project_A1 & A2 so that when we "run" the scrum meeting all projects are in the same sprint but when it is time to add tasks from the backlog I can then come back to specific boards which displays only epics (in the epics panel) that have been created in prokect_A1.
Any idea on how to create a common sprint ? Because when I play around with creating sprint it will create a specific sprint for each board,,,
Hi Fred,
I am not sure if I understand your entire use case, but assuming that Project_A holds the board that groups all your projects, creating a sprint only on that board should make it available for your separate projects as well.
Sprints are visible across Jira anyway, so it is no problem at all to assign issues from 1 project to sprints created in another one. In that flexibility often lies the seed of confusion unfortunately. It is recommended to pay attention to your naming convention, so you can clearly see by a sprint's name what board it was created in initially. And it would definitely be a good thing to document your internal procedures, so everyone knows sprints should be created in Project_A.
I forgot to mention that the sprint from Project_A will only become visible in the board of a single project after at least one issue has been assigned to it.
You can however add issues to that sprint from the side panel, as you can see in this screenshot:
