We have some customers sending emails into our mailbox with the subject field empty. It appears that JIRA refuses to collect these emails.
How can we get around this? A default string would be fine.
For anyone still looking for this:
EMH supports emails with no subject, it will use "(no subject)" as the summary of created JIRA.
It is the default string gmail and other few email server use for no subject
Hi Dave,
You can find the necessary info at our documentation page: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Creating+Issues+and+Comments+from+Email

That page says "Since all issues require a summary, each email message intended for issue creation should include a subject". Does that mean no solution is offered for emails without a subject? These emails are sent in by clients/users and so I cannot ensure they always fill in a subject.
