Hello @Roger Hancock ,

I'm on JIRA Cloud, which might be a little different, but I worked with JIRA server v7.13 last year.

Linked Issues cannot be updated through Bulk Change.

But you could go to the one issue that you want to link to many, and from there choose the Link option. In the Link Issue dialog you can actually enter multiple issues (the id's of the issues in the other project) comma separated, and the links to all will be created at one time. You can choose only one link type which will be applied to all the issues.

I was able to cut and paste the related summary's from a CSV file into the "Link" field, however when pasting multiple summaries, it found all the items I was looking for but not sure how to select them all. I was only able to select the first one. Not sure if there is a way to separate each summary in the pasted field to be able to select them all. I just kept pasting the same data over and over again until all of them had been selected. Still much faster than one at a time. Thanks

Hi @Roger Hancock

You can do this:

  1. Go to the the single issue you wish to link multiple issues to
  2. Press More > Link
  3. Select the appropriate link type
  4. Either enter the multiple issues one at a time into the "Issue" field - or...
  5. Select the hyperlink "Search for an issue". On the next page, select "Advanced Search" and then use JQL to locate the multiple issues to link to. This provides results in sets of 10 - but you can repeat this step multiple times to locate/select more than 10.
  6. Press "Link"

^ Just to be clear - steps 4/5 are two different options; you can use either of them - or a combination of both if needed!

Let us know if this works :)

Does this still work? I'm not able to find this:
On the next page, select "Advanced Search"

Hi @Vjera Turk

It doesn't appear it's possible to get to this screen from the new UI - but I did find a workaround:

  1. Go to Filters (top navigation bar) > View All Filters
  2. Ensure you're in the list view for search results
  3. Search for the issue you want to link multiple issues to
  4. Scroll to the furthest right-hand column in line with your issue result, and select the breadcrumbs (...)
  5. From this list, select Link
  6. Select the appropriate link type
  7. Either enter the multiple issues one at a time into the "Issue" field - or...
  8. Select the hyperlink "Search for an issue". On the next page, select "Advanced Search" and then use JQL to locate the multiple issues to link to. This provides results in sets of 10 - but you can repeat this step multiple times to locate/select more than 10.
  9. Press "Link"

If you think this functionality should be re-added to the issue screen also, you could make a suggestion from here: https://jira.atlassian.com/secure/Dashboard.jspa
