Creating jira plugin which supports cloud and server

Hello,

I'm working on creating advanced jira plugin which should work on Jira Server instance and on Jira Cloud platform. What SDK should I use to develop the plugin? Will Atlassian Connector work for Jira Server instance?

Hi @sdrozdz987 and welcome to the Community!

Apart from the fact that the options totally depend on what you are trying to build, you probably know that the Data Center (Server) and Cloud are totally different technologies. Unless your app is just connecting to / integrating with Jira, even the idea to develop something that works on all platforms doesn't make any sense.

Just in cloud alone, there's 2 totally different technologies: connect and forge. In September of last year, an interesting blog post was published outlining the road towards unifying those. Maybe an interesting read.

Apart from that, you may want to take your question a step further in the Atlassian Developer Community, which focuses more on app development specifically.
