Yes you can. You just have to create your US and then affect this US to the version in backlog view (for example).
You can even choose the fix version of your US.
Then when you go to the release hub and click on the unreleased version, you will your US there.

Thank you. Maybe you can help me with understanding the proper way to handle the following items: version, sprint, released, unreleased in terms of the backlog. As I imagine it as a scrum master I always do work resulting from a backlog. I would use a sprint to capture my work first. From that point I might have more than one version of code from my team from a sprint. Let's say i create version 1. So maybe initially I would have a unreleased version of code from my team who work from sprint 1. I would have had a release plan that I try to work to. Version 1 would be unreleased until I am ready to release it. At the end of the sprint 1 I should have completed my release plan where various versions of code go into appropriate released versions. The hierarchy would be as follows: Sprint/Release/Version/Un Released Version
