I'm using Jira and have created a customized board for a project. I changed the column titles, added new categories, and applied conditional formatting to highlight certain rows in the list. However, after three days, when I reopened the project, everything had reverted to the default settings. The column order changed, and the conditional formatting was lost.
Does anyone know why this might have happened? Is there a setting or process that could be causing the board to reset?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Hey Elena,
Welcome to Atlassian Community!
Usually, there's no automated setup (automation rules or workflow post functions) to revert the board configuration. The only thing I can think of is, if a new workflow is associated to the project, the board's column mapping needs to be updated.
If there are multiple board admins, someone may have manually updated it.
Are you still facing this issue? Or did you happen to notice this on multiple boards on your site?
Thanks!
Hi Karan,
We've had the same problem with the Board view for our projects. We have roughly 25 columns per board, with the Covers colour coded and customised fields showing for easy referencing.
The feature to "Save" the project view and reset to the last saved view was helpful as it allowed us to correct and then lock in that setup. When it rearranged itself, we just had to reset back to the last saved version.
Logging in today, this feature is no longer visible (a 'Refresh' symbol with circular arrows, top right of the Board view previously, next to the 'Group' option). When it was brought out a few weeks ago, it came and went a few times, hopefully it will return again soon or can be reliably found in another location?
We don't use Workflows or Automations as the issues / Work Items do not move in a linear format between columns.
