Custom Field type is not in the list

Suresh Choudhari April 10, 2019

When I look into Jira cloud instance I found that some custom field types are different than the types mentioned in the list while creating a new custom field. And that fields also marked with a lock.
what does that lock mean?

How to find out that field type?

Hi @Suresh Choudhari

The locked fields are standard fields that atlassian adds to your instance.

The locked fields from the screenshot are JIRA Service Desk fields.

They are locked to avoid that an admin edits them, what could break the functionality.

Hi @Suresh Choudhari

Those fields are installed automatically when they are required, you can not add them manually.
