We are being told and after looking through documentation that custom reports can be created. I have not found such thing yet. I have been playing around in the plans and see High Level views and different types. But we are looking to filter our reports bases on 5 filters within the projects.

What specific documentation are you reviewing that indicates to you that you can create custom reports?

What specific type of report are you trying to create?

What type of filters are you trying to apply?

I am trying to understand how to add 5 different fields that leadership wants, that will help report across all of the projects we have out there. 

 

12 Projects

Filter down using 5 Filters

LOB/Direct Report/Time Frame/Investment Category and maybe Sub Project

 

1. For the LOB I created an Automated rule Project Name = LOB and that populates

2. The other fields have been created as custom field but not sure if these will need to be mandatory fields across all projects to report properly to leadership

3. Leadership wants to use these 5 fields to build reports out. Not sure how reports can be built as this looks to be a planning tool and not a reporting tool. Screenshot 2025-09-04 152852.png

What specific documentation are you reviewing that indicates to you that you can create custom reports?

What types of reports are you trying to get based on those 5 fields? Metrics about issue counts? Progress reports? Something else?

We can provide better advice to you when we understand the types of reports you are trying to generate.

The Plans feature is designed to help with planning, viewing progress against the plan, dependencies, and how changes might impact the plan.

There is also the Jira Dashboards feature that can help with presenting metrics and other information.

And there is a wide variety of third party apps in the Atlassian Marketplace that can be purchased to satisfy different types and more complex reporting requirements.
