Custom changes between Sandbox to Cloud instance.

Ganesh June 30, 2021

Hi,

We have the cloud instance and sandbox, we are using the sandbox for developing and testing purpose and cloud instance for production.

My question is, if we mad a changes(custom fields, screens, workflow changes) in the sandbox, move that changes to cloud instance. Is it possible to do that..?

Many Thanks,

Kevin.

Hi @Ganesh ,

Right now there is no native solution to push changes from one environment to another.

There are a few apps that Atlassian suggests to move the configuration from your sandbox to your production environment.

Some of these are:

Project Configurator from Adaptavist:

https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1211147/project-configurator-for-jira?hosting=datacenter&tab=overview

Configurator Manager for Jira from Botron:

https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1211611/configuration-manager-for-jira?hosting=datacenter&tab=overview

The 2nd one isn't available yet for Cloud but they should be working on that.

Other than that I'm afraid you are currently to rely on documenting your changes and re-doing them in the other environment.

Hi @Dirk Ronsmans

Did Atlassian developed a feature to move the changes or modifications done in Jira cloud Sandbox to Production sandbox?

Regards,

Vishnu.

Hi @Vishnuvardhan Reddy ,

Nothing has been announced so far, so we still need to use the 3rd party apps or do it manually.

Hi @Vishnuvardhan Reddy and @Dirk Ronsmans

I found some documentation on the migrate two cloud instance without overwriting, and it is in Beta stage. May be we can expect soon.

What migrates in a cloud-to-cloud migration for Jira | Atlassian Support

Many Thanks,

Kevin.
