Custom field format

Hi

I have a field (Hotfix Number) in an issue screen. When users enter a numeric value in the field e.g 2234 Jira formats the value as follows... 2,234. Note the comma.

How can I stop Jira formatting the number in this way?

thanks for your question. AFAIK there is no option to edit this formatting. I guess you choose number field? 
What I did for our customers was using a plain text field.

Other option would be a custom field app that supports regex or further formatting to limit/format the entered value.
