Custom field was added on the screens, but it does not appear on the issue view

Hello everyone!

I added a select list custom field in two view/edit screens from the same project, but for different issue types. When I open the issue, I can see the field in one of the issue types only, but not for the other one, which is intriguing since they were both added to their screens. I even tried checking via API to see if I could find the custom field, but it is not there either.

I am running out of ideas of what could be causing this. Any suggestion?

Have you checked any field configuration schemes? Could the field be hidden for the issue type where it is not appearing?

Are these Jira Service Management Projects? Have they been removed from the related request types?

These are first places I would check.

Hello, @Sarah Wright ! Thank you for your help!
It turns out the field had a specific context for only one of the two issue types that I mentioned.  I changed the context for both and it worked.
