Custom fields: how to add a field of the same type as the time tracking

Hi everyone,

Let me explain, I added two fields relating to statuses on my screen, and I want to use them to enter the time estimate for each status.

The problem is that these fields do not appear, even if I have configured everything correctly. Also, I wonder if it is not related to the type of the field, I put the type "time in status" but I can't see it. Can you help me please thank you

Hi @Assia Touati

Actually "Time in Status" custom field type is rather a type of field you won't enter value in. This kind of field is used for Jira Charting Pluging. Once such field is added to a form, statistics values are entered to be the interpreted by the charting plugin.

I would rather use in your case a text or number field.

Also the plugin : https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1219732/time-in-status-for-jira-cloud?hosting=cloud&tab=overview is quite good to give information about time spent on each status.

Best regards,

Mike

Thanks a lot for your explanations @Magic Mike , is there a way to capture the time of a status without a plugin ?
