Custom fields on components

Is it possible to add a custom field on a component in Jira?

I want to create components in Jira. Each component will be affect to one or many instance.

At the end, I want to do a request like : "List all issues that have an impact on instance X" or "Which instance this issue impact".

Sorry, custom field can only be added to projects, not components. But maybe you could to the same with a multi level cascade field instead of the component.
