Customer fills the form on portal that goes to service project and is cloned into software cloud. Within cloud the issue is assigned to XYZ. Is there a way Customer can see who is the Assignee on the Customer Portal.
This doesn't appear to be available natively, but there is a change request for it

According to this post, a Marketplace Partner has responded that they have an app you can get that will do this, though.

Can an Assignee value be copied using Automation

The Assignee field value could be copied to another field, and that value could be added to the form, but the field would display when the customer is creating an issue. There currently is not a way to add a display-only field to the customer portal.
I would suggest that you automate adding a customer visible Comment to the issue to notify them when the Assignee field is updated, and include the value of the field in the comment.
