Hello Atlassian Community,
This is my first time using this awesome community to pick some brains. We LOVE the right-click feature to flag an issue type (when it is blocked, or similar). However, when we un-flag it, we are only given a open text-field to enter any comments. We would like to track the blocker reason (for example, selecting from a pre-defined drop-down list) so that we can capture data and look at trends.
We have explored many other options such as configuring a custom field with these pre-defined drop-down, however we have found that users often leave that field blank and forgotten. We thought about making it mandatory, but we think this is not the best user experience, having to navigate to another screen to populate a mandatory field. We think this will annoy the users.
From a user experience perspective, keeping this field in the same Add or Remove Flag Screen would be optimal.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
I was really trying to open a ticket in the Product Suggestion board, but it's making me publish this feature request, here in this forum first.
Thank You,
Sandy
Note: we have a mock-up, but I can't seem to attach it here.
Hi Sandy - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
There's not a real good solution for this. We have at times implemented the custom field with the values as you describe - but then we have an automation rule that sets the Flagged field so the user doesn't have to do two steps - just set the custom field.
Hi John,
Thanks for responding. May I ask what you are setting the flagged field with, leveraging automation? How do you set the custom field?
(sorry, I'm a nuub)
Cheers,
Sandy

Hi @Sandy Kim
Welcome to the community.
Unfortunate it's not possible to make changes to the add and remove flag screens, as this is non configurable.
