Customizing issue types in Jira

Hi all, 

I have a question...might be a bit stupid, sorry. How can you customize issue types with Jira? And then how can you add those custom issue types to a workflow and project? 

For example I would like to change Bug, Task Story etc... to Procedure, Document etc whatever we like.

Hello,

You can rename the Bug issue type to the Procedure issue type (issues -> issue types). But in this case it would be renamed in all projects.

If it is not what you need, you can create new issue types and then attach these new issue types to the project issue type scheme and then you can edit the project workflow issue scheme to attach workflows to these issue types.
