DIY Scripting

Kevin Thibeault

Good day. I'm obviously new to the Jira family of software. We are using Insight and Jira Service Desk for Datacenter.

A lot of the answers that I am seeing here in the community are based on scripting.

I'm looking to find a resource so I can learn scripting. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Kevin

Hello Kevin! Welcome!

There are some wonderful resources to help you get started with scripting. To see all the different scripting solutions available, check out the Atlassian Marketplace.

Is there anything in particular you would like to do with Insight and/or Service Desk? Perhaps if you have a use case, we could suggest an approach. If you are interested in Groovy, I highly recommend online resources such as LinkedIn Learning or the Groovy documentation website

I am a product engineer for Power Scripts, so am more than happy to answer any questions you may have. If you are interested in automating Jira Service Management (Service Desk), take a look at Live Fields. These pages will give you a good idea of what is possible with Live Fields.

Hyrum

Due to Confluence Cloud security features, you may need to open the documentation in incognito mode or by logging out of Confluence.

Please note that I am a support engineer for Power Scripts and work for Anova Apps (Appfire).
