DO we need new License if we wish to migrate form JIRA server to Cloud?

Hi Team,

Currently, we have JIRA software server instance running, as we needed more users, got to know , we need to move to "Cloud". For this do we need ne wlicense or not? 

Suppose, now we need 8 new users tier(already 10 users we are using, so new users list will be  18(10 Old +8 New). 

What would be the new cost for moving to "Cloud" from "Server' and 8 users tier cost?

Please provide me the pricing for this whole scenario, fast reply would be appreciated.

Hi @Devendar Gangapuram,

In addition to what @Rilwan Ahmed already mentioned, a couple of notes:

• Technically, moving to Data Center is an option, but the lowest user tier on that platform is 500 users, which seems a lot more than you need.
• Cloud is indeed a different product than server and so, yes - you would need to purchase new licenses for the product. Cloud has different plans with different feature sets, which is not the case on server. You can compare cloud plans and their pricing in this convenient overview.
• There is also this online cost calculator that can help you calculate the costs you may expect, based on your current situation and needs.

To get a better idea of what migration means and things you should consider, do take a look at the Cloud migration guide, as there is more to consider than just licensing cost.

Hi @Devendar Gangapuram ,

From Jira software server, you can even move to Jira datacenter version as well. This will require only to buy new license for Datacenter and apply it in your server version. Later you can upgrade your environment from single node to multiple node.
