Dashboard: Use of color

Hi. We use dashboards to view and communicate status of projects across teams/organization. We want to highlight if a project is at risk, on track, etc. I can use the 'Health' column but it doesn't offer color. Any ideas on how to use color to communicate status? 

I explored the Traffic-Lights app and that did not work for us.
