Dashboard message "The filter being accessed by gadget could not be retrieved'
Dashboard that I created displays fine for me. Granted access to the dashboard to the project team. Granted access to the filter to specific users that are also in the project team.
Users can look at data in the filter by going to directly to the filter, but receive the permission message from the dashboard.
Is there anything else that I need to do in order to give my team access to the dashboard?
Hi Andrew - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Are there other filters on the dashboard? And do they work?
Hi John,
Yes, there are a couple of filters used on the dashboard and the same problem happens...or should say happened since the problem is resolved now.
To summarize, Initially the problem occurred when I used the 'share' icon on the filter. and gave access to a number of individuals. This worked when those individuals went to the filter to look at data, but did not work when the dashboard tried to access the filter.
What fixed it for the dashboard was going to 'Details' on the filter and then going to 'Edit Permissions' and changing the Filter from Private to giving 'viewing' permissions to the project members.
So I'm happy to report that the issue is resolved. Thank-you very much for reaching out to help.

Hi @snigdha Narain - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
You need to also share the underlying filters with the users, not just the dashboard itself.
