Data center upgrade - what happens to plugins

Modha K Khammammettu May 26, 2018

Hello

When we do inplace upgrade from server to datacenter, what happens to plugins which are server (not  datacenter) compatible versions. Will the plugins automatically upgrade.

or do we have to do something to get datacenter versions of plugin.

Please let me know

Thanks

Abe

Hello,

You have to have a look at the marketplace, wether the plugins, which are installed in your instance, support Jira Data Center or not. If they support and you do not change the version of Jira, then your current plugins must be fine in the Data Center. If you change the version of your Jira instance, make sure that the current versions of your plugins are supported by the new Jira version. If not, you need to download new versions of such plugins and install them to Data Center.

The reason I ask this question is:

When I installed the plugins these are server version.

Do you mean to say that binaries that we installed will be same for Server and Datacenter versions. I.e. same plugin binarary supports both versions of Jira.

If that is not the case should the UPM not tell me these incompatible with Datacenter edition?

Please let me know.

Thanks

Abe

Binaries are same. UPM should tell you.
