Good Afternoon Atlassian Community/Superstars,
The data from the Control Chart Report in Jira Software is so different from Time in Status add-on in Jira Software (which seems more correct) for some issues (but not all). Is there a reason that time lengths on the control chart would reflect different then the time stamp issues sat in a certain status? We have have a lot of teams questioning if the Control Chart data is accurate if it does not match the Time in Status data. Any helpful tips or explanation for why this is would be occurring will be greatly appreciated in understanding the Control Chart better.
Thanks!
Hello Gianni,
As OBSS, we are the makers of one of the major Time in Status apps in the marketplace.
Timepiece - Time in Status for Jira
There is no easy way to know the exact inner workings of the Control Chart. But we are pretty deep into processing issue history data, which also Control Chart is based on.
If you can give some solid examples of the discrepancies between the two, we can try our best to discover what might have caused it.
Thanks @Emre Toptancı _OBSS_ for your quick response. I have attached a couple of example showing Control Chart Report data VS Time in Status data, I hope this helps.

I noticed that you didn't select "Include non-working days" for your Control Chart report. Kanban boards have Working Days setting in Board Settings. I guess your report excludes non-working days. On the other hand, your Time in Status app report might include them.
I remember reading a lot of complaints from other users in the past about the Non-Working Days checkbox of the Control Chart not working as expected. We don't have an easy way to see how this checkbox affects the calculations but, you might try getting a report while it is checked.
