Data picker format (in Description/Comments)

Currently data picker is showing in the description/comments date format as MMM dd, yyyy:

I would like to see the date as dd-MMM-yyyy (ddd). Kindly please help to answer what else should be modified?

Ok, so currently it is:
1. my JIRA account preferences: English (US)
2. my Win10 preferences: English (US) (date format: MM/dd/yyyy)

This is due to new issue view not supporting general configuration.

So the date picker is getting the default from your profile in English US

These settings don't apply to the issue view, which formats dates and times based on your language preferences.

I do understand you, but when people opened as a bug, Atlassian team stated as a suggestion.

The main reason is that the display format is oficial for the language selected.

One of the workarounds are to change the language for one that matchs with expectation about the date picker format. I will confess that I didnt test.
