Date field is not rendered correctly in exported excel.

Hi there,

Our client is having following problem.

When they export issue navigator to excel, values in date picker field are rendered in numbers instead of date format in excel.

(for example, "38686" is shown instead of "2009.12.1" in excel)

They say this problem started occurring today, and until yesterday date values were rendered correctly in excel.

Any possible cause? Please let us know.

They've changed their settings in excel.

The raw data in the xml Jira generates has not changed - you can check what it is by opening the downloaded file in a plain text editor - vi/nano/gedit/notepad(ugh) etc.

You should find that the date is coming out in a date format, and all your users have done is chosen to use a different column setting in excel and it's mistranslating the date.
